We recommend a switched ignition feed installation but can provide a switched live option should this be required.  An ignition feed installation helps prevent any potential issues with vehicle battery drainage. With a switched ignition feed, a dash cam will automatically turn on and off with the vehicle’s ignition. This means no power is taken from the vehicle's battery when the vehicle's ignition is turned off. A switched live installation provides a permanent live feed of power enabling the ability to recording when a vehicle's ignition is switched off.

The dash cams we recommend include a back-up battery and have a parked mode and G-force sensor.  With the parked and g-force options activated the dash cam will wake up and start recording if it detects movement or a knock even if the dash cam has had a switched ignition feed installation with ignition off.
